The Miss Universe beauty pageant has been dragged into controversy. Voices of protest against crowning of Miss Colombia Paulina Vega are being heard.
People have objected saying that Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell should have won the competition. #MissJamaicaShouldHaveWon became trending on Twitter soon after the 22-year-old Jamaican beauty left the stage.
Many were impressed by intelligence and confidence of Fennell. People have been opining that Miss Universe should not be selected not only on the basis of outer beauty but also on the basics of intelligence.
Twist between Israel and Lebanon
Meanwhile, a selfie taken during the global competition has created tension between Israel and Lebanon. The tension between the two countries increased due to selfie posted by Miss Israel Doron Matalon with Miss Lebanon Saly Greige.
On the other hand, Greige said that Miss Israel mistakenly took the photo. Likewise, Miss Israel Doron Matalon said that she participated in Miss Universe to represent her country and expressed sadness over criticism of Greige.
